On a personal level, I cut back on sugar years ago and, coupled with regular exercise & better eating & drinking habits, regained my my physical and mental health. When sugar is consumed in excessive amounts it can lead to cravings and addictions, and some scientists suggest that these cravings/addictions are very similar to those who are addicted to alcohol and tobacco. In this crazy, upside down world, we've made it illegal to give a child cigarettes and alcohol, and so it should be, but it's totally legal to give them white refined sugar or refined fats which is served in school cafeterias every day. No wonder this country is now ranked the most obese nation in the world. One third of adults in America is obese and the percentage is getting higher.
One book that was referenced in this documentary was "Salt, Sugar, Fat: How Food Giants Hooked Us" which I highly recommend that you acquire.
Drop that glazed donut & get to work...Let's all try to cut back on sugaras much as possible.
