Poet's Nook: "Infinite Power" by Ruben Bailey aka Big Rube

The struggle is Infinite

We build our strength in increments

Make the mental muscle more massive

To better withstand the pain of lost innocence

In remembrance of when we were sovereign leaders

Not standing on street corners

Begging someone to feed us

Because of outward appearance

Many people won't heed us

 But I'm telling you now

The whole world not just Hip Hop needs us

We're free bleeders

Shared in red so others don't have to

Feel the blues of feeling abused

If self esteem was elevated

We couldn't choose to be misused

We bear our souls for new shoes

We covet the chains of bondage

Because they're now covered in real jewels

We've become not so rare fools

Believing the lies they taught us

In their not so fair schools

Our third eye has been institutionalized

To be attracted to distraction

And through this perversion of aversion

We can perceive only a mere fraction

Of the Cosmos true nature

More giving, less taking

More precision, less mistaken

What's precious is worthless

Self destruction as creation

Stop seeking without

What's already within

True freedom is a divine gift

Beyond the power of mere men

To bestow
